"The Ride"
The University of Virginia Football program wanted a new home opener video featuring their Cavalier mascot, and wanted to take the storytelling to an epic scale.
We worked with the UVA creative team to craft a unifying mythology that embodies what it means to be a Virginia Cavalier, and we designed a new, darker version of the Cavalier to be the protector of that mythology.
Strength and Honor
Our new Cavalier is faceless, timeless - a mythological “original Cavalier” whose spirit embodies the UVA tenets of honor, strength, and dedication to the Commonwealth of Virginia.
A Multi-season Storyline
Every home game features a new battle, pitting the Cavalier against a terrifying abomination of the visiting team’s mascot.
Our Cavalier has faced and bested 16 opponents since we started in 2024.
Catching Fire
What started off as a home opener has jumped off the screen and into the UVA culture.
